English crisis!

on Friday morning at 9am, i had my prelim exam for CSC141. it's about discrete mathematics and more on logic.
i thought i was just gonna tackle with problems dealing with variables, numbers, and other logical expressions,
but when i looked at some of the questions, i was a bit surprised that i had to recall stuff related to English like contrast of a statement, the contrapositive, inverese, and especially grammar.
i can't solve the problem if i can't understand english well.
it's because the problems were dealing with english statements related to logic.
some took me a while to answer because i was having a hard time to reconstruct the statement, if my grammar is wrong, the whole statement would be wrong which means that my whole logical expression would be wrong.
as what my teacher said, "english is important, if you don't understand english then you will never pass this course."
